NTPC visits NIT Srinagar on Nov 29, 2010

NTPC is one of most sought companies from public sector. Offer by the company:

Eligibility: B.Tech (Mech, Electrical, ECE, Civil)
Salary: CTC- 9.8 LPA (CIH- 40000/pm)
Profile Offered: MT (TECHNICAL)
Bond: Bond of 2.5 lakh for three years for general and OBC candidates

Other Description:

There was a direct interview process for the shortlisted candidates from all the eligible branches.


Only top rankers of each branch were selected for interview.


Interview was more focused on core knowledge.

Total Offer: 14 (ECE-3, ELEC-4,MECH-3,CIVIL-4)

Interview was a combination of tech & HR questions (asked at NIT Raipur in 2010)

Technical question:

What is zeroth law?
What is first law?
What is second law? What does it signify?
What is entropy?
On what cycle, thermal power plant works?
How u can increase the combustion efficiency in boiler?
Which is more efficient, diesel engine or petrol engine and why?
What are the types of heat exchanger?
How condenser works?
WHAT IS EXERGY?
What is enthalpy? Write its equation?

HR QUESTIONS:

Where your father works?
Where you have done your schooling?
How far it was?
What else you do, other than study?
Name three major problems of India?

1. What does your name mean?
2. Your family background.
3. Why do you want to join NTPC?
4. What is your perception about NTPC?
5. Where do you see yourself after 10 years from now?
