Paper Content : Placement Process Details:The process followed by Vedanta was 1) Written test 2) Group Discussion (Only at NIT Jaipur) 3) Personal Interview Written Test: ONLY APTITUDE: 35 QUESTIONS IN 45 MIN. Group Discussion: GD Topics were general in nature like at NIT Jaipur it was: “WORK IS ALL ABOUT MONEY.” At NIT Srinagar students shortlisted from the written test were directly called for the interview. Personal Interview: Unlike IT companies’ interview which usually does not last long than 10 minutes, interview process of Vedanta was of 30-40 minutes for the many students. Here are some of the questions asked during the interview: HR Questions: Tell me about yourself? Why do you want to join Vedanta? Why should we select you? If your boss ordered u to do a wrong work then what u will do? After 5 yrs where u want to see yourself? Are you ready to work in remote areas? U can be placed in Kerala U can manage or not? if yes how? Why do you don’t want to go for higher study? Technical Questions (Metallurgical and materials engineering) Tell me about your training What have you learnt from your industrial training? How Zinc is extracted from Zinc ore? Explain what is done for SO2? How H2SO4 is prepared form SO 2? What catalyst is used to convert SO2 to SO3? How electricity is generated by using heat of escape gases and SO2? And many question related to extraction of zinc, lead, copper, aluminum. What is your favorite subject? And general questions related to that subject? Result: Vedanta visit came as a pleasant wave to NIT Jaipur as they have recruited 27 students from various branches.
