My first job didn't look like it would happen at allDate: 10-May-2010
My first job didn't look like it would happen at all, especially because I was the only MBA-Finance degree holder from my management institute at Mumbai University, to have not been placed on campus! I knew I had the qualifications and the capabilities. But.... Meanwhile, I had been applying through newspaper advertisements, which clicked, eventually! The Times of India wanted to employ me as a Feature Writer, something I'd called a dream job, until I went in for a post-graduation in management studies. So, it was indeed TOI that brought my dream back to reality. I joined The Economic Times as a full-time journalist and was a part of the team that wrote, edited and designed the brand new coloured version of Corporate Dossier, their Friday supplement. And the rest is history! By Gayathri Thakoor
