Make a list of what you really enjoy doing as a career,

Here is a paradoxical technique that has worked for me without fail - in fact I run career seminars with an industrial psychologist once a year to train people to do this. Here are the basic steps.
a) Make a list of what you really enjoy doing as a career, no matter how "far out"
b) Now use your social net work to locate experts in this field.
c) Contact the expert and ask them for 15 minutes of their time - you will buy the coffee or lunch, stress that the purpose of the interview is that you are investigating a career in this area and would like to know more about what it entails.
d) Go to the meeting armed with a note book and a heap of questions - the only question you may not ask is "can I have a job?."
e) At the end of the meeting ask the person if she knows other experts in this field you could talk to and get their details - do not go over the time you said you would spent busy professionals respect people who honor their time.
Now why this works is simple, many highly successful people are looking for bright eyed, interested followers (disciples) they are however hounded by demanding "takers." Furthermore many professionals will then pick up the phone and link you to their network often with a recommendation. Thirdly this technique does not put you in the position of the beggar but rather the student which is far better for you psychologically. Fourthly you will learn, for free a whole heap of street wise career skills.
Let me know how it goes - I would love to see you succeed!
I also strongly suggest you read Richard Bolles's book "Getting out of the Three boxes of life." or "What color is my parachute?"
warmly
