33 percent spurt in job offers at Indian School of Business

photoHYDERABAD: The Indian School of Business (ISB) here has reported a 33 per cent spurt in job offers and 11 per cent upswing in salaries in 2010 placements, as compared to the previous year.  
 
As many as 346 leading domestic and international firms made 541 offers this year, with an average annual salary of Rs 16.12 lakh, according to Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB. 
 
"I am humbled by the confidence companies have reposed in us once again. Our students come with a rich and diverse experience, and their transformational year at the ISB has helped them boost their capabilities and move along their chosen career paths," said Rangnekar in a statement. 
 
He said technology, consulting and finance companies were dominant players this year. Last year, 326 companies participated in campus recruitment and made 401 offers, with an average annual salary of Rs 15.91 lakh. 
 
In international placements, students were offered leadership programmes in countries like Italy, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Singapore in the areas of financial services, pharma, aviation, infotech, agribusiness and luxury goods. 
 
"This is the ninth year in a row that the ISB is using the Rolling Placements System. The successful placements year on year are a proof of its acceptance by the industry. The system is a lateral hiring process that is spread over several months, giving both the recruiters and the students, time to find the best fit," said the Dean.
