Rangrut: I would like to know about your experience in the discussion regarding the collaboration between Industry and Academia in the TPO Conference by rangrut?

C M Dwivedi: This is a very important discussion. The whole conference theme is very relevant, very appropriate and we need to really come out with the clear placement plan. Because this is need of the industry, need of the institute & need of the market. If student are well equipped & they are fully aware what they need to develop and what they need to do then it will be easy for them to get into industry. So it is very important that the industry and academia communities should work together, make sure there need is address, make sure the syllabus is as per the industry need, make sure that the course also have the possibility of the training the faculty member. 

Faculty member should also visit the industry and understand what are the pain points industry have, what are the issue industry have, where is the gap which industry is getting from the student. So it is very important to cover those gaps. Rangrut.com should conduct more workshops. I am sure this will certainly make the industry and academia community very close because the country needs lot of talent  & the kind of forecasting is coming that about 20 million jobs will be available by 2014-2015  and that can be fulfill only with this very serious exercise.

Rangrut : Do you Feel that these kind of meetings and conferences among industry and institute representatives can resolve hiring issues and the training problem also we face when we hire fresher?

C M Dwivedi: Yes, Of-course if focus is done in a proper manner with the clear orientation and exposure. I am sure the industry will find it easy to take the students without much induction, training and orientation as they will be ready to work. Currently we get the raw material and then company invest lot of time and efforts to train the people 

Rangrut: Do you feel that this kind of online recruitment process like Rangrut.com will really help industry and institute and the first job seekers?

C M Dwivedi: Once industry gets the confidence that the online recruits who comes are really trained and they are ready to run then it will be a great help.

Rangrut: What would be your advice to the institute and the student to get through with the industry expectation?

C M Dwivedi: My sincere advice to the Institutes is that please don’t be a academic community, be the industry focus advisers to the student. Students should not dream for a luxury job, rather dream for a job which has lot of challenges, lot of dynamism, lot of complexity, lot of risk taking. Take it on and build your career for the future.
