About Institute
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra is a Government institute offering undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in the field of engineering and technology. NIt Kurukshetra is one of the top engineering and technology colleges in India.
Formerly known as Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra, the college was established in 1963 as a joint and co-operative enterprise of Government of India and the State Government of Haryana to provide technical education in the State of Haryana.
Recognised as institution of national importance, the institute was accorded the status of Deemed University and renamed as National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra in the year 2002.
