VSSUT established in 1956. University College of Engineering, Burla, the oldest and premier Engineering College of Orissa, is a constituent College of Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela. It has produced more than 10,000 graduate engineers and 2000 Postgraduates in different fields of Engineering and Technology.
The college is located at the foot of the world famous Hirakud Dam amidst beautiful surroundings of lakes and mountains. Burla is well connected to Bhubaneshwar and Kolkata with roads and railways. Sambalpur to Burla is 10 kms both by road and rail. Hirakud Railway station is only 2 km away from the college. The highly dedicated faculty ensures constant innovation in learning and ensures development of the students at the same time.
